Porter Campus at Wiregrass

Earlier today, Pasco County approved a seven story building for the Porter Campus at Wiregrass Ranch, the proposed Pasco Hernando Community College Campus to be built at Mansfield Blvd. and SR 56 in Wesley Chapel. The building will be one of the tallest in Pasco County.

As a Meadow Pointe III resident I am not happy with the increased traffic and congestion that this will bring!

I like the way Meadow Point residents wanted SR 56 extension, and no traffic and congestions...
Does Meadow Point has CDD fees?

Yes Meadow Pointe has CDD fees and I agree that adding a college campus next to Wiregrass Ranch High School and John Long Middle School will increase the traffic significantly. The 56 extension is great and I'm all for development but a college campus in this area doesn't make sense to me.

If I am not mistaken, the major reason for SR 56 extension was future community college campus (county permits?). SR 56 extension as it is right now (3-lane divided roadway) can accommodate future traffic with no problem... The matter of fact, future traffic was taken into consideration during design phase.
Community collage campus in that area actually make sense because as for right now most students from Wesley Chapel area have to drive to Hillsborough Community College (Brandon/Dade City/Dale Mabry/Ybor City campuses) or current PHCC campuses - either way too far. It's a good idea to bring Community College campus to this somehow developed area. And not only college, but also a local hospital (which is under construction already)... And of course there will be some people who are "all for development", but don’t want this development to be near their community...
Oh well, this is how it works.
