Wiregrass Ranch Community in New Tampa / Wesley Chapel

Today's Tampa Tribune reports that the Wiregrass Ranch development/project finally won approval for limited development for their city-sized project in the heart of Wesley Chapel / New Tampa. The project is located east of Bruce B. Downs and between state roads 56 and 54. The Tribune adds that the developers hope to have state and federal wetlands permits within 60 days and final approval for the entire project by June, 2006.

Wiregrass took its first steps toward status as a development of regional impact in June 2004. The community consists of a 5,000 acre project.

Two schools, a middle school and a high school are already under construction in Wiregrass, with both expected to open within 9 months.
