The Army Corps of Engineers recently approved the permit for this 1 million square foot mall on S.R. 56. A possible federal lawsuit may be filed by the Sierra Club of Tampa Bay in opposition due to its environmental impact.
It has been reported that over 60% of the proposed retail space in this planned mega-mall in the Wesley Chapel, FL area has already been spoken for!

Wiregrass Ranch Status
Well, the long delays for approval for the huge Wiregrass Ranch project in Wesley Chapel, FL may soon be over. The "final" two major hurdles for approval of this massive project of 13,500 residential units, over 2 million square feet of office space, a hospital, and over 3 million square feet of retail space are scheduled for this month and next month.
Recommendations by the Growth Management office of Pasco County, FL will be made to the Development Review Committee on May 24, 2007 at the Pasco County Courthouse at 1:30 p.m. Then, there is a public hearing scheduled for June 19, 2007 with the Board of County Commissioners at the West Pasco Government Center in New Port Richey.

The New Wesley Chapel District Park
Located on Boyette Road, this new park in Wesley Chapel is now scheduled for a June, 2007 opening. The 143 acre park has a cost of $14 million for the first phase and a projected $8 million for its second phase. While nearly complete, the opening of the first phase has been moved back a month, from a previously scheduled opening in May. The two phases of the park will have a total of 10 soccer fields, a gymnasium, baseball, basketball courts, and an aquatics complex.

Pops in the Park Concert in Tampa Palms
A Pops in the Park outdoors concert will be held in New Tampa by the Florida Orchestra. The 80 piece orchestra will hold a concert on May 13th starting at 7:30 p.m. The concert will consist of both classical music and movie themes, including Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. Dress casually when you attend this concert at the Grace Episcopol Church at 15102 Amberly Drive in Tampa Palms, and remember to take a blanket and food and beverage. This is the perfect time to pack a picnic basket!

Tampa Home Sale Prices for March 2007
The Greater Tampa Association of Realtors has released the following average home sale prices by neighborhood for transactions that occurred in March of 2007. Private home sales and some new home sale information are not included in these figures. While the number of homes sold in March shows an increase over February, we remain in a buyers market.
