My wife and I had dinner at Romanos this evening and were very pleased. We were greeted with a complimentary glass of wine. I had the lasagna and my wife had the spaghetti with meat sauce.
The appetizer of Tadzhik with pita bread and tomato was very tasty. Service was great and pricing wasn't too bad. Dinner for 2 with soda was $31.
This restaurant is very good. I always get the greek salad...I can eat that everyday! I went to this restaurant because I liked the one in Brandon so much.
I love this resturant! I am a big fan of greek food and compared to the other greek food in the area [Papa's, Hungry Greek] their salad is by far my favorite and a little bit nicer then the other ones!
Romano's Cafe is located in North Tampa, just South of County Line at 20685 Bruce B. Downs.
The Greek music they play transports you to another world.
Romano's Cafe is "offering a hearty combination of Greek and Italian dishes in a casual setting" as Kenneth Knight says in Tampa Tribune's article in February 25th, 2009, a "a new dining experience in New Tampa" as the owner, Kostas Vretas says on the same article: "The menu is stuffed with an array of appetizers, salads, soups, gyros, pitas, sandwiches, entries and desserts. Everything is homemade, a tradition that goes back even longer when Vretas and his older brother opened their first restaurant in Temple Terrace". Customers are greeted with a complimentary glass of wine, service is great and pricing is not bad at all. The environment is very beautiful, a nice collection of paintings fashioned and the owners very friendly.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner six days a week. The doors open at 9 a.m. for lunch and close at 9 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
