$20 million hockey facility proposed in Wesley Chapel

Laura Kinsler of the Tampa Tribune reports that there is a plan to build Florida's largest hockey and ice skating facility in Wesley Chapel.

The $20 million concept was proposed to Pasco County's Tourist Development Council and the 150,000 sq. ft. sports facility would be built at I-75 & SR 56.  The proposal includes four rinks including an Olympic sized rink with the "goal" of attracting teams from Florida.

Over the past several years there have been various reports of hockey proposals in Wesley Chapel and New Tampa but nothing has developed.

The proposed hockey arena comes on the heals of a large ballpark venue underway in Wesley Chapel..
