Tampa-St. Pete in top 10 US cities with the largest net migration growth reports that based on the 2013 annual metropolitan area population estimates by the US Census Bureau, there is a "dominance of population growth and domestic migration by the South".

From 2010-2013, 51% of the population increase in the 52 major metro areas was in the South, 30% in the West, 11% in the Northeast, and 8% in the Midwest.

Tampa ranked 10th of the 52 metro areas for the largest domestic net migration growth from 2010-2013.
